Hey guys,

Just checking, the cost of an international JASA (adult) + infant = points for the JASA + infant pays tax only right?

Where as a classic + infant = classic points + payment + infant fare (?10%?) + tax right?

I was told the former when I booked the ticket about 12 months ago, just checking it hasn't changed.

Thanks - scheps

I think you have it the wrong way around:

Classic : 14.3.4 Infants under two years and not occupying a seat, travel without the need to redeem Points as long as the accompanying adult is travelling on a Classic Award. There is a limit of one infant per adult travelling on a Classic Award. Taxes, fees and carrier charges and GST (including all ticket taxes) may be payable in relation to infants as specified by Qantas at the time a Member books a Classic Award.

ASAs there is a discount, for instance BNE SIN with one Adult and one Infant:

Total points* for 1 adult 98,144

Total points* for all flights and passengers 125,587

ohok so the asa example is an infant with seat or without seat? I had assumed that was with seat.

Also, what happens when you tag an infant onto an existing JASA?

Sorry this is getting complicated.

I think thats with a seat, otherwise its 10% for JASAs like it was a paid fare

Thanks markis10,

I couldn't find a clear answer either on the website except for what you have linked.

I was hoping someone who has booked one can tell me how theirs went.

Going to call QF tomorrow to amend a stuff up once again........ sigh....... international call............sigh...............

thanks for your help

Would be interesting to look at the cost of buying a seat versus points earned and taxes included!

On domestic services, infants under the age of two can travel on their parent's tickets. For international services, infants must have their own ticket.

Not sure what the above quote really means!

Sorry to hear about the confusion. Perhaps try calling our Reservations team on a local number as per this link: Contact Centres and Office Contacts | Qantas.
