Hi all,

My partner is travelling back from Aukland to London alone for the first time and is a bit nervous about the whole thing. I need some advice so she feels comfortable with the process.

Facts

Her flight from AUK-MEL is on Emirates metal booked as a codeshare flight with Qantas (classic award fare). It arrives in Melbourne at 20:50pm. Her flight from Melbourne is on Qantas metal (QF9) and departs at 23:25.

I made the AUK-MEL booking after the MEL-LHR booking so they are not 'linked' per se.

She has both e-tickets printed and available to show at check in.

Question(s)

1. Will she be able to 'through-check' her luggage to London and collect a boarding pass when she checks in for her AUK-MEL flight in Aukland?
2. Will Emirates be able to issue her with her Qantas MEL-LHR boarding pass?
3. If Emirates cannot issue her with her QF boarding pass, what does she need to do once she arrives in Melbourne to obtain the boarding pass?
4. If Emirates cannot, should she seek out a Qantas rep in Aukland?

Thanks all.

V/B

1. Yes
2. Should be able to
3. Needs to find a Qantas staff member, usually 1hr before the flight at the gates (even head to the Qantas Lounge I guess)
4. They can check her in, if they will do it is another question (no QF rep, just ground handlers Menzies I think)
