Admin, I don't know whether I hold the majority view on this, but I think it would be great if the list of threads on frequentflyer.com.au ranks in order of most recent reply (as it used to), rather than ranking new threads.

It makes it easier to track which threads have been replied to.

Anyone else agree?

yeah, i agree with you mate. i preferred the old front page of listing the topics that were currently under discussion. and the way that the topic went back to the top of the list was great too.

it still says 'read what we are discussing right now' on the page. i reckon this is not really true anymore. right now it is a list of most recently posted topics. i can't tell if anyone is discussing these topics cause they don't move to the top of the list like they used too when someone replied.

if we vote, i vote for the old style of topics moving back up to the top when there is a new post.

you could also tell when people would resurrect a really old post ... like the seat reclining one and now they don't come up anymore either.

so yeah, i think we really can't tell what is being discussed at the moment, just a list of topics/thread recently posted.

I'm going to vote for the old way as well. I found it much more useful than the current list.

Hmmm.... I will have to investigate whats involved in changing it. Thanks for the feedback.

Ah... I didn't know there had been a change. Now I know why threads down the list go bold again. Guess I've been missing quite a bit of discussion!

If it's possible, I'd like it put back the way it was too.

I will abstain from voting on this issue.

I normally go straight to the "New Posts" link or the "Today's Posts" link.

I normally use the "Today's Posts" link but if I have not been on the site for a few days, OK I know it does not happen too often, then I use the "New Posts" link. Both of these links tell me exactly what is being discussed in chronological order from newest to oldest.

Aah... very good.
I had not discovered this before, but this is exactly what I am after !! :D

The other thing that I miss is that whenever you clicked on a thread from the homepage it used to open up in a new Browser window which meant that when you closed the new window you dropped back to the home page summary.

I'm using IE7 which has tabs (similar to Firefox), so to get around this I right-click on a link and select "Open in new tab".

That's what I'm having to do with IE6 but previously you didn't have to do this.

you can also click on the link while holding the shift key down and this will force a new browser window open.

Yes I am aware of that one too.

The point I was trying to make is that with the previous version you didn't have to use either of the two methods described as it would happen automatically.
