This is news??? (Another Qantas Jet Grounded)

AdelaideNow... Another Qantas jet grounded, this time in Sydney

AN embarrassing series of mechanical problems continues to plague Qantas, which has grounded a Tokyo-bound jet at the last minute so it can change a faulty part.

AdelaideNow has learned that passengers have been told to wait at Sydney Airport while the part is replaced and tested.

The airline is under increasing pressure over its maintenance standards after a series of mishaps, including an exploding oxygen bottle and an emergency landing at Adelaide.

I've been on many a flight where some last minute part changes has occured, and I don't recall it ever making the news before.

You are right, it really is not newsworthy. It could happen to anyone. Slow news day or Qantas bashing? Qantas is not having much luck with the media recently....

Ah well the Olympics start Friday which should take QF off the front page.

And other headlines had it as the "4th safety scare for Qantas this week" or words to that effect.

Stupid Media. Kind of saddens me when I read the 'news' and see the lies and misinformation in the articles I know something about. Makes me wonder what is fact and what is fiction in other articles that I don't know much about.

As for reader's comments - we belong in a society that is very stupid, xenophobic, and easily mislead.

One of the things that can be taken away from all these so-called incidents is that when a fault is found, they make sure everyone is safe and fix it.
