This looks good until a QF F lounge comes along. šŸ˜‰

Perhaps not quite 'F standard', but the new Flagship lounge is a significant improvement on previous offerings. Agree 11 hours warrants getting out of the airport though.

DFW AA Flagship Lounge with Flagship dining is F standard. Officially itā€™s only for AA metal, Iā€™m not sure if QF pays to get you access. I think BA does at some airports.

Standard DFW Flagship lounge is still good though. Better than a QF J lounge.

DFW AA Flagship lounge is good, however travelling F unfortunately you do not get access to Flagship Dining. Both CX and BA have made arrangements with AA for access at other airports (i.e. JFK) however QF are too cheap at DFW. The AA Flagship Lounge is nice enough with ok food and decent selection of spirits to make your own drinks but certainly not Flagship dining with Krug.

I've just been pretty underwhelmed by the QF F lounge in SIN so maybe I need to readjust expectations!

I haven't been to the DFW flagship lounge so I probably shouldn't have commented. But based on experiences 2 to 4 years ago at LAX, JFK, ORD and (possibly) MIA - not places I'd stay for more than a couple of hours. Though I did find the staff at ORD superb.

Interesting that there are reports that AA are trialling buying access to Flagship First dining. Though at USD $150 per person I find that ridiculously expensive (over and above needing to already have lounge access) and would much rather go and spend that money at a nice restaurant.

I quite enjoyed the AA Flagship lounge at DFW D gates since the revamp prior to QF 8. Sure no dining (which shows QF is cheap compared to BA and CX @ JFK or AA did not want to make arrangements at DFW, which seems odd - but it was all closed up when I went through). However the general lounge dining buffet is superior to the usual AA fare, comfy seats, charging options galore and a fair amount of space - even when full of yobbo aussies. There are worse places to wait for a flight (and there are much better :) )

Yes, I also struggle to see this given the fact they are now looking to trial charging pax USD $150 to use it.

Would agree with your summation re the lounge being a good place to kill a couple of hours prior to the 8. Much better than what used to be there which was a disgrace and also much better than your typical AA lounge.

Yep, there is no comparison between a standard Admirals Club and a Flagship Lounge. Lots of ACs donā€™t even have showers. Iā€™ve never been in Flagship Dining because Iā€™ve never felt the need to fly AA international F - but it looks far more exclusive than the QF FLounges.

Iā€™ve been to all Flagship lounges except JFK (LAX,ORD, DFW and MIA). They are all pretty much the same - though theyā€™ll often have a special food station like the QF DOM J lounges. In DFW last month they were serving ā€œHoliday Turkey with stuffingā€ - they carved it in front of you. The CTO breakfast options are good too.

Going a bit OT now, the JFK flagship lounge that I go into when on CX is fine. Thereā€™s a quiet room which usually only has one or two people in it whereas outside it tends to be full and noisy.
