One reason I always use a VPN when connecting to any shared WiFi.

This reminds me, I was planning on putting up a blog onto AFF on staying IT safe whilst traveling.
I do state it is safe to do so with some provisions being followed.

Thanks Foriegner very enlightening stuff will avoid unless using VPN ! Just as an aside the company I use for geographical free internet and VPN called unotelly wrote to me explaining why PayPal won't support free internet. " Paypal indicated that UnoTelly is not allowed to provide services that enable open and unrestricted Internet access."

So PayPal withdrew its services. As result, UnoTelly can no longer accept payment from Paypal.

More and more control ...... I can see why the dark web is an attraction.

With VPN's being so affordable these, it doesn't make sense not to use one (who doesn't like the old double negative :)).

This goes through my head every time I need to sign in to a sensitive service when travelling. Particularly in hotels. I need to access these services, but I certainly take some unnecessary risks. If everyone required 2-factor auth it would be better. It's beyond my that my bank doesn't even offer it (I consider this to be a more sensitive service), but my Twitter account does (somewhat less concerned for).
