Kings Park, botanical gardens Perth.
the boab tree was transported from way up north east Kimberly over about 6 days 3,200km.
It is over 750 years old. Plenty of pretty kangaroo paws plants

And the beaches up to Palm Beach and Pittwater.


One of the smaller beaches is Bilgola Beach. In the 50s and an aunt used to rent the same house every January. Then the next door house was rented by Winifred Atwell. We were invited to afternoon tea which was followed by Winifred playing her piano for about an hour. A very pleasant surprise.

Mention of Winifred Atwell evokes a wonderful memory for me @drron
As a 15 year old with my brother and 4 others in 1970, we went to a Dinner at Melbourne's Chevron Hotel where she performed - she was absolutely fantastic !
Then 7 years later the Chevron became my digs for a year - lots of great memories of 539 St Kilda Rd
My Mum insisted I get a new dress and my brother to wear a suit jacket and tie!
