The view or two from my "office"

It has been interesting just sitting on the balcony looo g out at San Juan. The airport is to the left, and this end is where all the small light aircraft (Cessnas and Pipers and the like) are parked in a line. On the other side of the waterway, the mega ships are docked. Quite the down town”!

Edit: woeful WiFi. The photos wouldn’t post, so I saved. And then I could upload them. I think I’ll call a halt while at sea!

We went for a walk around part of the Swan River on Sunday.

Claisebrook Cove with the Perth CBD in the background. This was pretty much a wasteland until the 1970's as there was a lot of noxious industry in the area including a Town Gas Plant. A huge amount of contaminated soil was removed to rehabilitate the area.

Matagarup Bridge. People were zip-lining down from the central arch. Optus Stadium on the left and Crown Casino behind it..

There was a fire at CPT yesterday. Absolute chaos. Fire took out some IT cabling so all IT systems were down. We boarded an hour late at a remote stand. Then waited another two hours while they deal with load and balance data. A four hour layover in JNB turned into a 70 minute mad rush.

Photos like these really make you feel like you're actually there. I love it when people share views from their balconies or random street walks - it instantly gives me the travel bug. Plus, you can pick up on all those little details about the local infrastructure and urban layout, which gives you a great sense of the district's architecture and development. It’s super inspiring for planning your own routes and finding those off-the-beaten-path spots for a stroll.
