The view or two from my "office"

As seen from the Hullo terminal Nanaimo, logs floated and towed into position being load onto a ship. It quiet a sight to see the loading teams skip over logs, chain them wtc with ease.
As the log numbers decrease, the little tug zips around mustering the remaining log into bundles. What a job!

Dinner tonight was at Bran Castle, with our host Vlad taking us on a tour and introducing his wife and two brothers. “Vlad” was really good, but with a wicked sense of humour. Dinner was served on the third floor. Toilets were at ground level. There were an awful lot of narrow, steep stairs in between! (My apologies, but I could not show the interiors without the exterior “office”.)

Sadly the Canada trip's come to an end and after 25 odd hours and a day lost we're back home. What holiday? We flew economy with Fiji Air from Vancouver to Canberra via Nadi. The service and food offerings on the first leg was pretty average however the second was fine. We did however manage to jag the two oldest aircraft in the fleet! Happy days!

In Vancouver Fiji Air use the SkyTeam lounge for their business class pax and One World status holders. Wasn't too bad, food was decent and the wines were ok. Tried to get into the Cathy lounge, got bounced. Oh well.

..nearly 12 hours later and a day lost we had a four hour stopover in Nadi before heading to Canberra. Don't mind the Fiji Air lounge; clean, comfortable, good food and decent breakfast mimosas though does get busy in the mornings. For a 'no view lounge' it's pretty decent. Great having Fiji Air flights directly into Canberra. From disembarking to unlocking the front door was done within an hour. Take care everyone and happy travels!

For our last night before flying home from Berlin on QR we stopped nearby in Kopenick. We don't leave until 22:30 so we spent a few hours wandering around the very attractive waterside areas there.

This is Baumgarten Insel. It is covered in some very substantial allotments. The only access is by boat - or swimming
A footbridge crosses the river and goes over the island but there is no exit onto it due to public protests.
