The view or two from my "office"

Portreath Beach Cornwall

It wasn't very cold but it certainly wasn't warm and these four girls had set up a windbreak right next to the stone wall and were having a little picnic. I could think of better things to do than visit the beach on a day like today. I did see a bottle of Malibu so maybe that was helping IMG_2500.JPGIMG_2522.JPG

After the last few days of cold weather in Canberra, we expected Sydney to be much the same. But we were wrong (thankfully)

Before and after shots. Sunshine on Saturday and now dust on Tuesday in Sydney.

Thankfully we were able to move our flight home forward, but we're expecting delays. That's life

On my lunchtime walk near the Sydney (Banksia) office.
A Westerly breeze is picking up, so planes are largely taking off to the west at this time, I.e. directly over me. I look up whenever their passing is announced, and this time my eye was particularly caught by the 777-300ER that is NZ104. A welcome break from the domestic 737 conga line, but notice the lower part of the picture.

I don't photograph every plane I see, but it took a split second to register there was another plane in view - and headed up!
Turns out VA413, coming in to land got as far as 375 vertical feet (FR24) and decided landing wasn't for them.
From a brief look at what data is currently in FR24, NZ104 was barely off the ground when the VA flight reached their lowest point.

His late brother Phil and my brother were great mates, so even more special last night as Tommy recalled many memories of Phil 🙏
Yes when we saw them both Tommy and Phil were on stage.

I just read that Phil died of an asthma attack at age 65 in 2018.
Tommy is 69. They were taught to play the guitar by their mother.

Colmar is beautiful and so are some of the surrounding villages - I could go back there tomorrow
It certainly is beautiful. We took far too many photos. All up we were there for over 6 hours and were just wandering the streets for most of the time. We only had a break for lunch, the boat ride and a short trip in little free electric bus that does a circuit.
