My next office as correctly predicted by @RB is Hot Water Beach.

You have to go ~2 hrs either side of low tide to reach the correct spot.

I arrived about 7:30am and initially had the place to myself.



Walking to the hot water location, I spotted this on the beach.

It was about the size of a 10 cent coin.



At the hottest spot the water was around 64 degrees Celsius.



The idea is you dig your own hole and enjoy the warm water and the stunning view.

Highly recommend adding this to a north island NZ itinerary.



After about an hour enjoying the serenity a few others arrived to dig their own hot water holes.
