The view from my "office"

One of the sad facts of everyone getting older, is that this may be the last time I see this particular "office" colleague from last night at the Brissie Entertainment Centre! With two members of Pink Floyd having already passed, and the remainder well into a "normal" retirement age, last nights Roger Waters "Us and Them" concert may well be the last of the famous laser light shows of the era.

Of course there were the synonymous flying pigs and a dark moon hovering around the place and a surprisingly large Battersea Power Station (with a pig of course) running the length of the venue which materialised from nowhere!

Thanks for posting these as we are now thinking of doing a Painted Silo road trip in August - something I never thought of before I saw your pics.
If you're hardcore you'll go all the way to Kimba in SA.

Wheat town hopes giant silo mural will draw tourists

Saw them a few months back, absolutely stunning, especially if you get the right light late in the day.

Suggest you time your visits to each silo to coincide with dawn or dusk, whichever is applicable to the location..

Thanks and thats what I said to hubby, we can stay at a couple of local pubs so he can photograph morning/dusk and maybe some night sky.

I was planning on a trip to Cobber Pedy but then I saw the silo pics - just a quick break mid year from work. It'll be my 50th.

My ambulatory office today. Buy what have they done with Goldfields House?

When I swapped my geo's khakis and the outback for a nice suit and investment banking in Sydney, my first office ( my own, not shared) was L24, Goldfields House, with a window over Circular Quay. I thought I had it made :). Every job after that took me further and further back into the city. :(

Anyway, sorry to see it go. Lots of history there.

If you go to Kimba you will have to check out this office-

.
I naturally did a TR on this trip though it is a prelude to a Thailand TR-
The SSSS tour of celebrations.

Also a current Luxury Escapes deal is Glamping at Wilpena Pound.

How long ago were you in Goldfields House, my father was there until 1994 working for Goldfields, then the day after he retired I started with RGC in Goldfields House.

Goldfields had level 23, 24 and 25, with a great internal stair case form 24 to 25 and superb mineral collection displayed in reception.

Sorry, it was L23. The company I worked for subleased half of L23 after Mark Bethwaite 'downsized' :). We had oodles of space, hence the wide-eyed new guy got a front window office. We moved in 1995 or 1996 IIRC.

We did some deals for RGC :D.
