Have reward prices just gone up? I'm just looking at MEL-BNE, currently 18500+ in J - I could've sworn it was less than that a week ago. Or am I dreaming?

I looked last night as wanted to do run before end of June. I was short 2K points two weeks ago. Now I have those points I cannot do as the goal posts moved. I think I will let it go and just keep up the SG on Qantas. Disappointing but I only made gold in VA two years ago on a status match then the following year travelled to NZ several times. Did not expect to keep gold on VA and after being tantalising close back to where I started.

I had been looking at this wrong. I had been trying to do a any seat award instead of a 'Reward Seat' late one night.

From Canberra going to Darwin on J via Brisbane and Melbourne. On the red eye to Darwin. 180 SC, 41,000 points and $69.72.

Returning to Sydney on the same day on J QF ASA via Adelaide. 140 SC. 50,000 points and $143. Will be a tiring day.

In mid June I am doing the QF run on J to HBA via Sydney return. 200 SC, 36,000 points and $170. June will be a busy month.

I completed a return A56 yesterday.. It was a real, and worthwhile trip too.
33000 points and $43 for 160SCs.

Well thanks to all the advice in this thread I am just about to take a Melbourne to Newcastle and back. Will repeat with the kids in a couple of weeks which will push me well into Gold.

You could have booked Newcastle Melbourne using 2FOR1. Choose the FlexiFare, then upgrade to business (19600 points). Get 160 SC if done before June 30, for that using 2 of your sectors from 2FOR1. Quickest and cheapest way I believe currently of getting up to Gold.
I have 2 flights uin June one Brisbane Cairns return, one Brisbane Adelaide return. Has cost under $1000 plus 59,200 points and will gain 480 SC. Cannot complain.

Do any OOL locals have some great runs out of here?

I've been eyeing up the OOL - MEL via ADL chucked together with a MEL - PER, it's attractive to go J with the current sale as I really want to check out the A330 J class!

Any suggestions for a good way back to OOL from PER?

There is an indirect flight, but I believe it's certain days only. Monday is definitely one, maybe Thursday and Friday as well?

nope. seeing direct flights only.
quite a few "enhancements" with indirect options disappearing and points required increasing substantially (despite 15% sale...)

Hi all. With a bit of help from the fabulous people on here (and other sites thanks Brent) and family pooling I have rapidly gone from red to SG with only 80 SC to reach WP before my SG anniversary next June. Now to try the airbus business coast to coast!

Wow, this thread has gone quiet, just realised its 6 weeks to my anniversary and I am 200 SC short, most of the options in the sheet seem to have been inflated (or enhanced), looks like a run KUL-BKK with SQ in J for $1K might be value!

Wow, this thread has gone quiet, just realised its 6 weeks to my anniversary and I am 200 SC short, most of the options in the sheet seem to have been inflated (or enhanced), looks like a run KUL-BKK with SQ in J for $1K might be value!

Now that the Reward SCs offer is over there's not too many options for a run :/

I Have done the KUL-BKK R/T on SQ in J. It earned exactly 200 VA SCs. Booked on the SQ Website. Have to juggle the connections, though, to ensure on SQ metal. More SQ options if done on weekdays.

Just remember that you can wait three months plus for partner airlines SC to be confirmed

My VA SCs were posted within 2 days of travel on SQ metal on the KUL-BKK R/T in J. The same "sppedy posting with my more recent flights on SQ. However, I've always booked and paid on the SQ Website. Just need to not go into Kris Flyer Web page, and use the SQ " Open" booking page. Enter your VA number in the booking page pull down. Appreciate Johno101 that some other VA partners and booking methods can take a long time for SCs to post. My experience has been seamless with SQ posting through SCs to VA on SQ metal (so far) Cheers, PJ
