I'm currently enjoying a Bircher muesli for "Frühstück" in the FRA LH FCT.

I'm tired but I'm at ease... ;)

And even better news, my PA has come back with my documents and has got me 1K for my PEK flight (w00t!)----------

When did you acquire a PA?

Rightio, five suitcases packed, and didn't even need to crack the sixth. Obviously only spending barely 3.5hrs at the Waikele outlets (and even with three trips to Ala Moana) we haven't done enough shopping!! ;) I even found - and bought - about four possible frocks to wear to the lunch on Sat, including a navy lace number and a navy silk number at Ralph Lauren, each of which cost $30. Originally marked at over $130, so I'm rather happy with that effort.
Fly to LAX tomorrow. Little Miss knows there's a surprise on Thursday, but doesn't know we will be worshipping at the altar of the great rodent (i.e. visiting Disneyland). Then to AKL on Thurs night ...

Was Ralph Lauren at Waikele or Ala Moana Katie? I'm counting the sleeps 'til I'm there.

I assume it was when he walked in the door. And like all great holiday flings, his pa will disappear once he boards his flight.

A pa left my work last week. Budget cuts yada yada, same reason im leaving. Anyway as im smooth as sandpaper, when i said farewell i said "well i probably wont see you again but take care and good luck."

The look was special...

Her look or your look? ;)

lol. Her look. I've worked long enough to realise that unless someone is a specialist in your field - the chance of running into them again is pretty low (barring a couple of strange occurrences - but I'll digress).

Oh to be early 20's again and think that everything in life is great... :)

The RL dresses were from Waikele. Only realised they were an extra 75% off when I was at the register. Also got some dresses for Little Miss 5 reduced at Ala Moana store.
A security tag was left on one of my shirts at Waikele; only realised when packing. FWIW, RL on Kalakaua does not use the same tags, but Macy's do.

Maybe I dug my own grave on this one, but......

Arrived at 0450h GMT+8 at PEK this morning from the LX flight ex-ZRH. I needed to obtain a BP for my ongoing flight on NZ to AKL, which is sched departure 1150h GMT+8.

Got into the terminal - the transfer desks were all closed. I was told it's "too early - come back 0630h". #1

Was offered to go back into the landside on a temporary 24 hour transit permission (requires no prior visa and costs nothing). Didn't take it at first to chance the transfer desk.

Transfer desk opens at about 0600h. When I got there, I was told (by the CA agent), "Cannot check in for NZ until 3 hours before departure."

"You mean I have to wait another 3 hours before I can get my next boarding pass?"

"Of course."

Inside, I am livid. Is it not unreasonable that the agent "should" have been able to give me my ongoing BP? Or is it really that she would have been completely unable to access the relevant system to give me my ongoing BP?

Can't go through international transfers security without a BP. Eventually I give up and decide to go landside. Perhaps the sales desk or customer service desk for NZ is open and I can do something there.

0710h. Get to landside. Go to NZ's check-in section. No counters open. No sales desk open. No customer service offered by the counter manned by a CA agent.

I wait until 0835h when the CA agents finally decide to open up check-in for my NZ flight. Get my BP after the Business Premier line agent takes her time getting her system up and running.

0850h back to T3-E awaiting immigration. No priority lines here.

I'm asked by the immigration officer to produce an ID. Any ID. Besides the passport. Seems odd, but my Australian Drivers' Licence seems to suffice.

Another photo ID check at the next desk. Then a security screening point that could be fit into a shoebox.

My bag is put aside. What's wrong? "Have you got coins in your bag?" What the? That's all? Not the liquids or the amenity kits or my camera which I didn't take out and separate from my belongings?

The only win of the morning...I manage to convince the receptionist at the CA F Lounge to let me in on account of my last flight being in F and I'm a transit passenger. "Just this time".

I'm eating steamed yum cha varieties and trying to calm down, with free internet provided by the Airport VIP wifi and "Grandfather PRC's Great Firewall". Can't access Facebook - no big loss.

Phew!

If your a fan of not always buying gas bottles and as a result like the Weber Q, Rays have a 26.5% sale at the moment, if you buy online then collect at the local store the Q305 is very cheap when coupled with the autoclub 10%:

[Weber Family Q (Q305Au) LP] Weber Family Q (Q305Au) LP
Subtotal: $513.76
Coupon: (-$51.38)
Total Payable: $462.38 using autoclub code

Just a heads up for AFF members, its a steal at that price, I use ours almost every night and our gas bottle has not needed replacing since early Feb!

I love how a heap of my friends think my work travel is glamourous.

I'm sitting in the office in BOS at 2:30am (been here 12 1/2 hours so far). Waiting on people back home to get some stuff to me (and up until 15 minutes ago have been working flat out myself).

Last night was 10:30am till 9pm in the office, then working at the bar at the hotel whilst having dinner and going to bed around 4am.

Monday: 12 1/2 hours in the office (After 4 hours sleep).

Glamour? Bah and Humbug!

(the problem is they just see my drunken antics on FB from MegaDo's and the like ;))

Boy, 3, hit by car and killed at fast food outlet in Annerley | The Courier-Mail

(a very sad story about a 3 yo run over by a car). But am I overly sensitive about media reporting?

"the little boy"... Is that proper journalism, or unnecessary sensationalism?

I have a three year old boy and he is a big boy (bigger than the seven year old girl he befriended down the coast last week) :). Stories like this just want to grip his hand tighter when we are anywhere near cars, he is good in that respect.

That's the second child killed by a car in a couple of days, very, very sad, what must the parents be going through.

Geez I bet QF will be surprised to hear that their A380 has morphed into a King Air:!::mrgreen:.
The first of five new NSW Air Ambulance aircraft has been launched by state Health Minister Jillian Skinner, who says they'll become an extension of the local hospital for those in regional and remote NSW.
Named after famed aviator Nancy Bird Walton, the new Beechcraft King Aircraft 350 will be able to fly further, faster and carry more complex equipment and staff than the older Air Ambulance planes, Ms Skinner said in Sydney on Thursday.

Now I thought we here at AFF could come up with some roundabout ways to get from Point A to Point B.But aa.com beats me hands down.I am researching one of next years trips when we are cruising from Reykjavik to Churchill. There is a charter from Churchill to YWG included in the cruise fare.So going to do a circle pacific ticket to BOS-flights to Reykjavik cheapest from there and can get the JL 787 to NRT.
Decided we would like to spend a week or so in the Canadian Rockies so looked at YWG-YYC-DFW-BOS.Now if you just put in YWG-YYC-DFW then aa.com brings up the AA codeshare on Westjet YWG-YYC and AA on to DFW.But when I add BOS to that itinerary this is what i get-

So a 743 mile sector gets turned into a 3412 mile marathon and the total trip goes from 3828 miles to 6604 miles.Unfortunately the price goes up commensurate with the distance.
