If you’re supporting Melbourne next season, sure (or wherever Brisbane’s former coach is heading).

As for the match, I saw some commentary on it. Supposedly the ref was right to award the penalty despite no contact, but I didn’t catch why. I assume this was because the Perth player didn’t look to be playing the ball, despite completely missing the player too. I just think Football needs a big shakeup for things like this. You take a dive, even if the ref awards it, after the match it should be reviewed and you should be suspended for a minimum number of games and have some pay docked. It’s just silly.

There is no doubt that it was legitimate penalty - just check out the super slow mo of the incident.

All I see is a leg swing and a miss and over he goes. Perth Glory go home with nothing to put in their trophy cabinet.
Then Virgin conspire with the airline gods and delay the flight to Melbourne to miss the flight connection to Perth by a few minutes. Conspiracy view from the WEST!

It's called virgin bod. Bring own device.
Serious? I feel sorry for the people who thought the Virgin IFE was going to be something special.

I have no doubt it was a dive. And yes I am questioning this guys so called character. After all when players such as Messi think it is OK to take a dive then there is not much more to say....

I see virgin are advertising their new ife...

That's also advertising the new EJet Business Class. Just like economy but with a different coloured seat.

Actually I'm perfectly happy to take my own device,at least that I can be certain that it will have content of my own choosing and that the sound will be fine,
unlike the IFE provided on QF 767's,on 6 out of the last 8 flights I have taken on the 767 I have had inoperable IFE so I would be quite happy to
go for a Virgin "bod" as Mal so eloquently puts it.
If Virgin can fix their catering issues then my bod may well be flying on a Virgin "bod' flight in the near future.
Cheers

I was on a QF 767 BNE-SYD last night. More than enough choice of music (including classical) or comedy to keep me happy. The less devices I have to carry with me the better.

Off to Thailand today and I have a camera, a Sureshot GPS and a phone. That is way too many devices for me to carry and I know I can get GPS on phone and takes photos as well.

I have the golf clubs as well but they are not really devices....

Were you on the chartered plane? Im surprised the couple of hundred Perth fans staying at the novotel didn't tear it apart after that decision...

No, I did it myself with Virgin. ~$600 return pp. Not bad.

The big venue was tinbilly backpackers. They were very good to us all weekend. Everyone was still stunned, we were just trying to have a good night. You can understand how riots start though, after that...only one guy was arrested at the ground, and he got off with a 4 month no-attendance notice for Suncorp

I think Virgin left a bundle of Perth Glory fans in Melboune on the return to Perth. Basically the plane left 2 hours late from Brisbane and no one held the Melbourne To Perth flight.
That lack of thinking is something that Virgin need to fix and I am wondering why they didn't hold the plane for a few minutes as bad news travels hundreds of times faster than good news.
Didn't hear about this, odd as I know many who went via Melbourne (and Sydney). I know a few took a long transit in Melbourne to see friends.
But that one moment wasn't the whole match. After all the Roar scored all the goals! The match stats certainly were very much in the Roar's favour.
Look, I still feel we were robbed. But what is getting lost is what we were actually robbed of.

We weren't robbed of a Championship...oh no. No, we were robbed of a chance. However unlikely it may have been that we win that match, we just wanted the chance. That is what we were cheated of.

At the end of the day, we played Brisbane how we had to play Brisbane. And we came so close.

Pretty much. No certainty we win in ET, far from it, but like I said above we wanted a chance.

Look, I could make a general comment about Albanians but I will refrain. From the moment I saw him I instantly disliked his way of playing, after that incident with Boschaart where he took his shirt off etc...well that was disgusting.

I find it more than a little funny that in order to justify the penalty, we have to slow the video down frame by frame and analyse it for minutes. How did the ref make this call in real time? He can't have been sure, he just guessed. We were robbed. And this Championship will forever be tainted.

But like I said, we have to move on. What's done is done, we can't change it.

We all want to play Brisbane in Round 1 or 2. In Perth or in Brisbane, no one particularly cares. A large contingent will be heading to Brisbane if that is the case.

Anyone know if you can buy Sam Adams in MEL (or Aus for that matter)?

I do enjoy it when in the USA, and the current seasonal they have (A summer brew) is very nice. It's going down very nicely.

Would be nice to find some back home to enjoy :)

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

I’ll agree it looks like their feet were close, and if we use the terminology in the video, his foot may have caused an airswing, but I don’t think there was contact. I will concede he wasn’t playing the ball though.

Went to the local Anzac Day march today. Great local tradition is to have a fly over by local pilot Rod Hall. Today was in an L93C Albatros. This is a link to his website

My kids marched with their school & 5 other local schools - great to see many, many young Australians paying their respects.

I'm currently enjoying a Bircher muesli for "Frühstück" in the FRA LH FCT.

I'm tired but I'm at ease... ;)

And even better news, my PA has come back with my documents and has got me 1K for my PEK flight (w00t!)

Rightio, five suitcases packed, and didn't even need to crack the sixth. Obviously only spending barely 3.5hrs at the Waikele outlets (and even with three trips to Ala Moana) we haven't done enough shopping!! ;) I even found - and bought - about four possible frocks to wear to the lunch on Sat, including a navy lace number and a navy silk number at Ralph Lauren, each of which cost $30. Originally marked at over $130, so I'm rather happy with that effort.
Fly to LAX tomorrow. Little Miss knows there's a surprise on Thursday, but doesn't know we will be worshipping at the altar of the great rodent (i.e. visiting Disneyland). Then to AKL on Thurs night ...
