Training for Iceland. I bought a puffer jacket for myself via the US for about $70AUD. Gotta love their winter stock sale.

I was in San Francisco last week, I got a great puffy vest For $US 16 !!! :p Talbots is one of my new favorite shops.

If training for the cold why stay warm?
Training to survive the cold and not get sick?

Bought a few merino pieces for hubby to try out as well. Hubby hasn't been convinced to come to the puffer jacket or vest side yet.

Ron doesn't feel the cold - but even he has a puffy jacket for Iceland :p

@Denali, which month are you going to Iceland? I must have missed it previously as I’ve been in a New York State of Mind for the last month, but leaving here today and need to think about prep for my August Greenland trip and working out how cold It will be.

Quite the evening over here. We purchased our first proper dining table (restored hardwood, heavy, and an absolute steal on eBay. Local seller, so went round and had a look. He even delivered it!). Also purchased our first proper couch and armchair (through West Elm. We got a little discount and a ton of QF points through the mall).

A lot of ethical questions and animal cruelty questions attach to puffer jackets.
Did an animal suffer for yours ?

That's what they want you to think. It is true in most of the USA but in San Francisco the minum pay for a restaurant worker is now $14 an hour and from 1/7/18 $15 an hour.Far higher than most of the USA.Though I don"t see anyone saying therefore you should tip less in San Francisco.
actually Master FM told us when we went out to dinner with him in San Francisco that the locals are tipping more around 10% because of the higher wages - only tourists tip at the higher amount, apparently.

With tipping in California I go 18% to 20% of the no tax total. Because I am driving the liquor bill is zero so that saves a lot.
New York is a bit higher plus I don’t drive there.
I use a Chase CC or a US Amex to pay.
