Same here, can't remember the last time I had a sweet fizzy drink. I had a sip of the bosses c cola the other day just to see if I still didn't like it or not. Nope, still don't.
She has a small can now and again when she feels a migraine coming on.

About the only time I drink regular coke is when I am getting a migraine. I almost crave it. The rest of the time, I am not a fan of it.

I consume a lot of sparkling water - San Pellegrino specifically. Get through about a litre most evenings.

I gave up on fizzy soft drinks after recent visit to USA. They keep topping up sofa when at restaurants over there . In the end started ordering sofa water.

I can’t touch soft drinks there - the corn syrup doesn’t agree with me.

I racked up about 200 CHF (Swiss Francs) in laundry charges after being there two weeks!

I’m amused by the comment re not taking clothes that need to be ironed on holiday. I don’t even have clothes needing ironing at home! Handy given I don’t actually own an iron.
Well, MrP wears ironed shirts for work. He can’t rock up rumpled.

I should have added that instead of diet whatever, I’ll now get sparkling water
But it may be the sparkling part that is the real problem.I did previously quote a study where people drank carbonated water and gained weight,Ghrelin levels rose and it does increase appetite.
Also studies with yoghurt sweetened artificially has the same affect as unsweetened yoghurt whereas consuming sugar sweetened yoghurt was associated with weight gain.So why the different result with diet fizzy drinks.Maybe it is just the fizzy.
I drink still water.

I must say I get pretty annoyed with politicians from either side using our taxpayers money frivolously. Julie Bishop taking her boyfriend presumably for sex romps, Bill Shorten going to a Melbourne Cup piss up and leaving his limo driver earning half a zillion on us or Sarah Hanson Young taking a year to repay expenses wrongly claimed. I just picked some easy targets and you could pick your own examples.
The biggest annoyance is where our Federal politicians can have millions more in their pension values and escape paying 15 % tax on the value over $1.6 million. It is time for fair play.
How do we get the system changed?

That’s the thing about Aussies. We are too relaxed about politicians rorts. And we only occasionally get rumpled by important social issues. I marched against the Iraq invasion which kinda shocked my kids at the time but I saw so many of their teachers doing the same thing. I remember the march in Adelaide being a mix of older people, church people, and much younger people. We should be rebelling against the SA government currently, many of the Councils are behaving badly and totally squandering rate payers money on things like golf club memberships for a golf club located 30 k’s from the council. But the fact we don’t demonstrate means that pollies are pretty much free to do as they like until the next election but by then they are sitting in their retirement nest anyways.

That’s the Achilles heel of representative democracy.

Today I feel good.Kiva is using a woman in Cambodia to canvass for more loans.I was one of the folk who contributed to her loan.
"
Growing up in rural Cambodia, Phearong always dreamed of graduating from university. She earned a scholarship, but the additional expenses of moving to Cambodia’s capital, plus rent and transportation costs threatened to derail her hard work.
A Kiva loan funded by 46 lenders around the world (plus plenty of grit and ambition) made it possible. Asked what this meant for her, she said:

“When I heard that [Kiva lenders] could support my living expenses, I felt like I was flying! My parents would not have to worry about me anymore. I could stay and focus on the job that I wanted to do."
With expenses covered, Phearong became the first in her family to graduate from university and has in turn dedicated herself to creating a more equal Cambodia for all women."

A way of giving back to those in countries visited and been shown great hospitality.

It goes from bad to worse.
I think whats worse is your partner, spouse, whatever is suppose to be the person you can turn to for support and to protect you when needed.

I feel in trying to make out hes this magnanimous guy while giving others the opportunity to call her a cough (which shes not, but some of his older voters/haters will think that).

AND he doesnt want a paternity test? F you, Barnaby. That child deserves to know hes real paternity AND if its the ex fiance's kid, you wont have a choice in the testing because her ex fiance might be the father/go legal.

I've been donating to Kiva for years and for more than $1000 I think there's less than $5 that hasn't been repaid
