Gosh - I'm trying to resist hugging my ipad!!

I have to to admit I briefly thought about what Qantas would look like with a koala on the tail as these guys just scream "adorable!" ... But...I've come to the conclusion the roo was the better choice :D

Anyone read their christmas present from NAB? What are others doing? 4000 pages, or thereabout, without answering any of my questions. (like how much will I get) Perhaps I should bet on CYBG being a dog.

Koalas seem very docile animals

Oh no they're not.One of my Uni vacation activities was volunteering with the NSW NPWS.Got to tag koalas around Jenolan Caves and on Pulbah Island in Lake Macquarie. They may cry like a baby when you catch them but give them a chance or be a little careless and they turn vicious.

A thrilling read. I don't want to spoil it for you but I couldn't put down the chapter on tax implications for non-resident shareholders. :D

I'm selling. CYBG's record is very poor. NAB had it for years and couldn't make it work and I read nothing in the door-stop of a prospectus that showed new managers had any bright ideas. In addition I figure my holding will be so small as to not be worth the hassle, and I'm overweight financials anyway. YMMV

Darn it all. I skipped the tax implications for non-residents entirely. No wonder I'm struggling to be engaged.

I think I'm in pretty much the same situation. Even with skipping the interesting bits, sell seems the obvious answer.

How hot is it in MEL today???

How cold is it in London today! ;) Was 2 this morning on the way to work but my app said "feels like -3". I'd agree with that!

Quite the opposite then of...... (see below)

Sure you're not thinking of drop bears? :D

If we are going to call them that, then perhaps that's a better reason why perhaps a carrier should not have them on the tails. I mean, an airline with a drop bear as the mascot??

Koalas can be quite vicious. Their claws are large and they know how to use them to defend! And we knew not to touch him. The ones in petting reserves are tame. Wild ones - be careful.

Pretty excited that I had two of my quilt designs accepted for publication yesterday, including one to a magazine in the UK. Got some crazy sewing to do to meet the deadlines.

Brilliant! Didn't know we had such talent on AFF! :)

How hot is it in MEL today???

Wrong question. The question is how hot will it be in MEL tomorrow(14th) and the answer is half as hot as it was on the 13th. Typical Melbourne summer weather.

That's very sad, I wasn't aware of that bond. I guess some people will be now be worrying about that clip going international and Australia's Kangaroo meat export market being adversely affected. California I think has banned the importation of kanga meat and maybe fur/skin products too?

Continuing on the Australian wildlife theme a touching article in todays Brisbane Times-
Kangaroo photos capture mourning in the wild

I'm not sure of anyone would said animals, mammals at least, are not self aware. But when roos are going to be culled anyway, I'm not sure what California think they are going to achieve by banning imports.

It sounds a lot like the Japanese bringing up Roo shooting in defence of their whale hunting. Last I checked there were not 50 to 60 million whales in the oceans

Koalas are fine, its the Drop Bears you need to watch out for!

In regards to Melbourne weather, I'd imagine this is hell for people with a fever, and probably the prime weather for people to get a fever!

Also, I'm not sure what the balance of air conditioners (dual cycle) are in Melbourne, as I'm sure many older homes have none or only heating, but when really hot weather hits it also sees many die from heat stroke, particularly the elderly. Usually such stories make the news, but from at least the Queensland news, nothing heard about down south yet.
