In my experience many food items stay edible longer if refrigerated. Even bread way past Best Before date is ok.
Agreed. I had steak a few months ago that was in the freezer since October 2013 when I first moved into apartment. It didn't taste great but it was still edible.

Potato crisps don't lose their freshness. Noodles are OK. Peanuts. Cashews. Etc, etc.

Tinned goods are usually OK.

Mum and brother just throw it away without even checking. Food is not going to go off just because of a "use by" date.

This is a joke, right? I thought this was standard practice.

Someone in the comments mentioned the Montessori style of teaching.......

Are you into teaching? Maybe standard practice in Oz, not the UK.

Not a teacher, though I've been told that I might consider a career change into teaching. Apparently high school maths and science teachers are in short supply, and get paid rather well.

I thought UK students were held to a higher standard compared to Australia. Times tables up to 12 x were taught to all of us in grade 3 (i.e. age 8-9 years). In those days, one of the ways they tried to help us recite the tables was setting them to a song.

Now I know some of you are going to say that you learned all four basic arithmetic operations before you were 7 years old...

Re: Seat Selection - JQ 787

There is a website called, NeverFlyJetstar!
I would have been a happy poochie, if JQ didn't cancel my dom flight, but they did.
All the best for those of you with JQ flights, dom or int.
Hopefully all your flights will land and take off with you on it, and not have your flights "cancelled for engineering reasons".

Not a good sign.

Maybe, maybe not. They're in very deep trouble, but a trading halt doesn't always mean bad news. It is required for many reasons, including situations where information may get to the market before being officially announced and to prevent panic selling.

Though their announcement suggested the trading halt was due to breaching debt covenants. That could be fatal.

Oh, if sales over Christmas have been dire - then I have no doubt DSE are in a huge amount of trouble and getting finance topups would be difficult. TBH, I'm not sure what benefit DSE provides to the Australian retail landscape.

I purchased a Bose speaker on David Jones on-line (via the QF mall for the 10 points per $) to be told it would be delivered on the 4th.
By the 10th I am on the phone asking where my delivery was.....
Told it was being supplied by Dick Smith, will have to contact them and get back to me.
Long and the short, finally delivered after many phone calls on the 22nd.

I think this is an indicator of how poorly DSE are operating.

Well before 7 years old. Dux at school in Greece, dux in primary school in Australia after starting in year 3. Still trying to work out where it all went wrong.

Being dux ain't what it is cracked up to be? Based on my Year 12 results I should have been dux but the awards are given before the results come out. I was never considered intelligent by the powers that be at my school because I wasn't one of the sporty/noisy/articulate ones. I just worked hard and studied.

Totally agree. Doesn't sound good

The dux at my high school was the biggest boy and a fine rugby player.
