Wow not sure what is going around illness wise but went to work this evening all ok. Within a couple of hours I was sweating profusely and ready to vomit. Then I did. Still in pain and now home getting ready for bed.

Am off the next two days so hopefully fully recovered by then.

Very similar thing going around here. A few work colleagues had it and I managed to dodge. Mrs Flashback then had it and I dodged for a while, but eventually succumbed.

Seems to be a week and a half type thing, so hopefully yours is not that bad!

Went around London recently. To say I felt like death was an understatement....

MrP had this recently too. Lasted around 3 days. Incredible temps. He had to take a variety of drugs as he had significant large client presentations that couldn't be changed. Would have loved to crawl into bed but self employed - not easy to take sick leave unless unable to function on any level.

Ouch :(

Hope you feel better soon

Sounds a bit flu-like. Hopefully you are already on the mend.

Actually that is probably on the mark. Atypical though.

When I got the flu earlier this year, I felt fine when I went to bed (except for mysteriously sore hips) and woke up sick as a dog the next morning... Unfortunately it took weeks to recover.

SQ has long had a policy of early turnover of aircraft. It is something they have practised for many years pre A380.

By doing so they manage to defer some of the larger maintenance items and these then become the problem of the new owner. It is also why a section of the aviation community won't have a lot to do with SQ.

Correct. The lease cost and the ongoing maintenance costs, combined, need to be considered.

Will really test the market on A380s then.

Thanks saw the GP today and a bit of swelling and also a sore hip! It may be a virus so stay home for a couple of days and if it gets worse go back. otherwise stay hydrated.

Get yourself some hydrolyte or gastrolyte, helps rehydrate you a bit quicker, we find it good for illness.

gatorade or powerade powder is a cheaper.

And has way more sugar... but it depends what's wrong with you :p

AFAIK One of the best products is not on the market. Steric in collaboration with some emergency services (MFESB and CFA IIRC) developed a version of Staminade with less sugar, but still with high levels of electrolytes and magnesium. It would have been a similar cost to their other products, but it isn't marketed at all.

It didn't taste as "good" due to the lower sugar content, but I was fine with it... Of course I am anomaly, the core market for sports drinks want a sweet tasting refreshing drink, so high sugar drinks have ensued.

The moral of the story - Don't tell your dentist you work out... They will attack you.

Also good for self-inflicted illness if you catch my drift.

I don't believe you, why would you ever need that type of tablet, if you get my drift

Water is probably the best and cheapest.

Get well hvr from someone else who is lying low after catching another cold this year, I think I am up to 5.

It's busy in Albury tonight. A brand new Nissan ute is being launched here tomorrow so I hope to get a peek. Also for those that follow the V8's, Dale Wood is replacing Moffat who is off to Volvo.
