I do wonder how it seems to have flown completely under the radar of competition regulators in multiple countries. There is already some backlash to it, and most likely will continue.
I hope the backlash continues.Vail Resorts CEO resigns:

Yes the car park double is open. Can’t vouch for the quality of snow on the run though. Even after the last dump there are still bits of bushes and some rocks sticking out of the snow. Today was -8 overnight, so very crunchy at first. It got to 4 degrees this afternoon, so soften nicely in most places but slushy to the north facing runs like Excelerator. Some good skiing though.Lunch at guthega Inn was always very nice including the vibe.
Is the car park double chair open?
Hoping the AFF brains trust can offer advice about transport from Vancouver to Sun Peaks for 3 pax.
We're arriving on QF75 and will overnight in Vancouver.
From there the best option I've found is either EBus or Rider Express to Kamloops 0800-1230 approx. followed by a shuttle with Peak Shuttles from Kamloops town centre to the airport, followed by a second shuttle that departs at 1500 and arrives at Sun Peaks 1600 approx.
This option would be ~$80pp for the bus and $55pp for the shuttle = $405 total.
Alternatives I've looked at:
Bright ideas and alternatives would be much appreciated.
- Fly YVR-YKA, then shuttle. Roughly the same departure and arrival times, but more waiting and price jumps to $810.
- Private shuttle door to door $1,200.
- Train Vancouver to Kamloops leave about 3pm and arrives about 1am... then a long overnight wait until first shuttle of the day.
- One-way care hire doesn't seem to be an option as no car hire outlets at Sun Peaks.
