The Qantas Status Run Master Thread

(((whY put yourself through that!?!?)))
Not straight there SYD -> CHC and come back straight away, but it was to try the 380 without going to DXB, and also to feel the SYD QFi F lounge, and the SYD EK lounges.
I did it several times!

@XavierP - I couldn’t get a pic of the actual transit area as my flight arrived on the other side of the terminal, but as you can see, there’s plenty of signage…

PS> Platinum/OWE are being funnelled to the Emirates Lounge whereas Gold/OWS and below are sent to the neighbouring Strata Lounge.

Hi good people,
With double status credits now counting towards Lifetime tiers, can you please suggest some status run options departing from Sydney between March 2026 to August 2026? Hoping to retain gold status. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks and best regards,
Vic 😊

How many SC's are you wanting? And do you want to combine it with a holiday or are you time poor and just want to race from airport to airport racking up SC's?

Hi RSD, hoping to retain gold so need 600 SC. A two week holiday would be great but if I can't, I'll do back to back flights. Tks, Vic

OK well Sydney-Denpasar return earns more than SYD-Nadi so SYD-DPS on a DSC booking in discount J would get you 480 SC - its the same SC's for Singapore, Bangkok, Manila etc. To get 600 SC's you could do SYD-Bengaluru in discount J on a DSC - 600 SC's exactly - some others on here might be able to give better advice on the best months to visit India. If you would rather go to Honolulu then regular (not discount nor Flex) J on a DSC will get you 600 SC's on a DSC.

Sydney-Townsville return in J for $1,002 gets you 240 SC. Not bad at all.

Do it 6 times for platinum.

Sadly for @VicStar none of these J fares are particularly cheap @RSD
Just got MEL- SYD - SIN return sub 5k per pax.

Paging @DejaBrew , currently doing a marathon SR from Sydney!

Used Classic Awards to book return repositioning flights to OOL to kick off my SR, and all my fares (OOL>AKL return via MEL or SYD) were purchased in the international sale (July just gone). Managed to get sub-$3/SC if I’m not mistaken.

Yes. There's a transit point. I did this a fortnight ago, with no problems. I was the only person there (it was 12.15am however). I was actually quite surprised that they didn't ask to see any paperwork. Just went through security in the usual way, and then off to a VERY empty departures concourse. To wait until the lounge opened in 4 hours.
You would need to check the opening hours of the transit point though.
What time is your transit?
For me the transit point was closed at midnight. Are you saying transit is open overnight now?

thanks RSD. I think I'll reposition to OOL

When I arrived at the transit point it would have been around 12.15am and they said that they had literally just opened. I was expecting to hang around the corridor outside the entrance until 2am, so was very pleasantly surprised to see it open.
