The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Hi everyone, this is my first post after I attended the Masterclass in Sydney yesterday. It was fantastic. Big thank you to all the AFF team who put it together.
What ever your plans are, maybe it was mentioned yesterday, do realize that QFF points do expire without activity.
There are many ways to have movement of points into your QFF acccount.
Dont let (no activity) means, that your points go off.

Have a CI reward booking next month. Present routing is PVG-TPE-BNE. Am hoping to remove the PVG-TPE sector and keep TPE-BNE.

When I booked, both routings were available.

Is this change possible despite no bookable inventory, or am I stuck with the married segment?

call and ask and see what they say.

Watch as it's been mentioned if it's too complicated, you might end end up loosing the whole trip.
Too iffy and dangerous.
Personally, I would just do the trip..
If they don't follow strictly😭 you might loose the trip

The OP was referring to changing a booking. Nothing to do with not flying the first leg of a booking.

Isn't changing a booking also a bit off, if the call center (centre) assistant does not process it quickly or rigidly.
And yes, I know he or she is not taking as about not taking first leg of flight.

Quick question - does a classic economy award on Qantas always include a free checked bag? I'm looking at some award flights from Europe to Canada and notice availability with AY and IB.

and in cases where the economy award doesn’t come with baggage, in some cases your OW status will grant en extra allowance for free… for example in AA.

Sorry if this is basic, but I can't see the answer. If my basic FF with Qantas gets me from Basic to Silver in July 26....with collection point year end November 26..I see that the Silver membership is valid until Nov 27 as shown on my app. If I now get Gold before Nov 26 (so basic to Silver to Gold within current membership year. how long would my gold card be valid? Beyond Nov 27 or just same as the current Silver?
