The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Sorry for rookie question.

For QF941 ADL-AKL service which is now on sale, how many status credits am I earning?

I cannot find it on Qantas tables, does it categorised as other flights?
Use this table (Domestic Australia and NZ)
Qantas

It will be between 20SC and 80SC depending on the fare class.

Click on the price in the QF web site (laptop)
20, 25 or 40 SC depending on the fare type/price

Oh no! I am so sorry! It is QR941, Qatar Airways.
It's QR914 not QR941?

Yes it is QR914 ADL-AKL service.

So QR is flying this route?
Wow.
Cripes, if it comes to fruiting, all my dreams have come at once (edit: nak, not on a 777).
Grin.
Will have to check it out.
Thanks for the tipo, ...
QR does not carry the QF flight #, so it will be less than if it did.
Might be more worth it to put in your VFF if you are a member of that program.
Seeing that QF does not have a J lounge downstairs, in the int dep zone, so is it worth if spending to fly J?
===

Seeing that QFi will stop flying that routing on its own aircraft from May, too.
===
Maybe flying that a359 is the best kick tho.
===
Its on the 777 tho, and with no QF flight #, its a lower earn rate.
===
Seeing that the flight does not carry a QF flight #, so the earn rate will have to be calculated manually, and also have to make sure you are in an eligible class of earn, esp in QFF.
J is about $3,000 for a lower rate of QFF SC earn, than if the flight did carry a QF flight #.
Maybe its easier to go with VFF tho.
The partner earn class rate info (((above))), from QFF does not want to load.
===
ADL > AKL, 2024 flight miles, non QF flight #, ...
---
All other flights, down the bottom: of their website.
Qantas points and SC earn by miles flown, under 1,501 miles and 2,500 miles.

I am actually tossing up between emptying my VFF points balance to book with points or pay cash and earn Lifetime Qantas Status 😂

(Y class), at least if QF flight #, or if QF flew this route, its never 500 QFF points and 20 QFF SC, bare min would be min guaranteed of 1,000 points and 20 QFF SC.
Granted, ok if you are happy with a 500 QFF points earn, and slum it down the back of the plane.
Not so bad either if QF had a int dep lounge downstairs at ADL airport, or an agreement with Plaza Premium in the int dep zone.

CBR-BNE 0605 departure. Seatmap showed almost full flight (barring a few rows empty at the back of the plane). On boarding I think I counted approx 30 SOB.

The explanation that I can think of is that most of the seats are blocked from selecting owing to weight management or ther were massive number of people who chose not to fly at the last minute ? Could there be any other explanation?

i remember getting an earlier flight and was put to the back of the aircraft. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers! When I boarded and did the long walk to the back, I noticed most of the aircraft was empty with a few seats taken at the front and some at the back. Were there some latecomers? No, that was it! The reason was take-off trim. We could move anywhere after take off. It was a 737 and I eventually had a whole row to myself .

May be the one I was on had the same trim issue …

Where the heck does one find the end date of a QF sale? Currently there is a global deal sale on but when does it end?!
