Any case that includes a front flap like the many iPad cases would probably work fine, but they aren't as popular on phones as tablets.
 
Flip case for the phone works well.

As does a sandwich plastic bag

It's the extra wrap-around, for security, on the tray-table-latch that makes this extra skookum.
 
You can get flip cases. I like my headphones too much to even dream of damaging them doing something like that! :D

I use an iPad for IFE. I have a fantastic STM case that just sits perfectly on top of the existing screen (or in those tablet holes in Y) :P
