Mrs Ikara is currently in the UK on a walking tour with a group from South Australia. They flew from Santorini in Greece to Gatwick yesterday on easyJet. She had no choice as it was booked by the tour organisers. I did warn her about excess baggage on easyJet before she left two weeks ago, but then again what would I know? Surfice to say, I did have a small chuckle to myself this morning when I read the following post on her FB page this morning.......

Here we are in Winchester after finally getting through the "shamozzle" at Santorini a/port. Stood lining up for 2 hrs to get to check in counter, followed by having to go & pay 39 euros between Judy & I because we were 3 kgs overweight. They wouldn't take into account that a lot of our group were well underweight, also it wasn't a full plane. Then waited for bus to take us to plane. Couldn't take off because there were 10 cases missing, they were found & loaded on. Get to Gatwick & had to wait 1 hr to pick up bags as there was a problem opening the cargo hold. Finally arrived here at 7pm. Nice hotel, lovely meal now lights out as body clock is midnight. Touring Winchester tomorrow.

Sounds like it was the LCC flight from hell. Thankfully her next flights are Emirates from Glasgow to Dubai and then on to Adelaide. All in Y, but at least with 30Kgs of baggage.

Aahh the joys of the LCC.
