On my outbound journey on QF I enjoyed watching the final episode of The IT Crowd. I laughed my way through the episode and enjoyed the reappearance of the Internet in its box.

On my return EK flight they had the same episode. Watching it again I noticed the amount of discrete blurring in Douglas's office. The scene of "short barista guy" being hit by the van was completely cut, kind of missing an important part of the plot.

Overall though, the Emirates IFE is miles ahead of the QF IFE. I would also say it's well ahead of SQ for variety and operations. Really enjoyed the choice of two aircraft cameras.

Cheers

Love the IT Crowd.

Remember how chopped movies used to be when they were projected onto the 'big' screen on the plane? Some were unrecognisable or didn't make any sense.

Does make you wonder what you miss out on, and don't realise....

I recall an article a few years ago on the topic, and they were ranking airlines by the amount of censoring they do. Can't find it now though.

No real surprises there, each airline individually and carefully vets everything which goes onto their IFE system. There have been many a time that I've watched movies on IFE which I know quite well and I've noticed scenes missing.
That said there have been several times I've watch movies on IFE and wondered how certain scenes where not cut (typically scenes showing sex and / or nudity)
