Flown many times in F with EK, the crew mentioned that the caviar comes in a large container or packaging which is why they plate it and generally load it on.

I personally don't feel well after eating EK caviar but my Wife absolutely loves it and usually finishes the entire serving while washing it down with Dom Perignon

Emirates first class remains one of the best airline experiences out there, with private suites, world-class dining and wine, and plenty of high-end amenities. I tried to take full advantage of everything Emirates first class had to offer in order to "make my money back" on the ticket.

Emirates serves Gourmet House caviar on Royal Doulton fine bone china in first class and passengers can request as much as they'd like. I estimated I got about 3 ounces at $80-$100 each, plus all the fixings, so I rounded up to $350 for the beautiful presentation.

Just booked my first EK F Qantas Reward in November SYD - MUC as I wanted to get in before the price increase. We have a 2.5hr stopover in DXB, do we get the buggy to transit security and the lounge or does that need to be requested?

Sometimes. But better to request it.

In my experience, buggies are not that common. There should be someone on the aerobridge to escort you through security and to the lounge. But you may need to request a buggy if that is what you specifically want. There can be a couple of escalators to navigate so I think that's why buggies are not the default.

Ah awesome so you do get an escort? Just wanting to maximise the layover time so cutting thru security and into lounge is the priority

No need to book.. They will have your name at the aerobridge. Not always a buggy, depends on the timing. I have passed through DXB so many times but am still not familiar with the airport. They whisk you off and I am often in a dazed state having taken a temazepam. At MUC on the return leg, check where the VAT forms can be dropped off before you go through Customs and immigration.

Yes you should get one, particularly when transiting. Takes the hassle out of working out which concourse you have arrived at / will then be departing from. My (faulty) memory is that my most recent trips (post-pandemic anyway) have had an escort. But for some reason I think there may have been an occasion where there wasn't.

Ask the purser onboard to ensure there is an escort at the bridge for you. They can (probably) make a request if they don't know it's guaranteed.

That said, having an escort has probably only saved me 2 or 3 minutes at most. I only recall one line where we really cut straight through.

Having flown F in/out Dubai all "pre-C" ~ 10 times (2015-19) not once did we get an escort

No you don’t always or regularly get an escort or a buggy in our experience.
Good advice above, ask the purser in F before you land.
