A little bit of background = with Ron working in Tasmania for 3 months and me home alone with two cars, I finally bit the bullet and decided it was TIME to go to one car ! ( I had been on this quest for some time ) So while he was in Tassie I traded in our two cars for one. He got home just in time to say goodbye to his car as he drove it to the dealership and sign on the dotted line for the new one ;) Now we are taking it for a spin out west. Here is the plan, and lets see what our new wheels can do. We leave in the morning !

Well may you say 'he', but the little fella zie, sie, ey, ve, tey, e clearly has late-onset gender dysphoria, probably induced by social-media contagion, and is obviously transitioning.

Everyone needs to respect zim, sie, em, ver, ter, em during this very sensitive time in zir's, hir's, eirs', vers', ters', eirs' life.

Either that or just a cross-dressing exhibitionist...

😜

Des is not naked - he has a jumper on 😉, and he is also 16 our years old - so I don't know how old that makes him in bear years - but probably antique.

A lot of locations along that route from my childhood, visiting the relos, such as Jandowie, Chinchilla and my favourite location the Burrandowan Picnic Race track (on the corner of my uncle's property). Feel guilty that I haven't been back in last few decades.

So nearly 48 hours without internet and a few Adventures later we find ourselves at Dalby and home tomorrow.'
But more of that later.Back to the beginning. This trip was meant to be to Western Australia.Well their Premier put paid to that.
Next was to be in Sydney for our Grandaughter's 10th birthday. Our Premier put paid to that.So road trip was shortened to Port Stephens to catch up with old friends.Again Annastaci put paid to that hence our South West QLD driving trip.

A chance to run the new car in.mrsdrron made sure she salvaged the toll tag from our old car but she had to get a new holder for it.Now she is very organised but on Wednesday morning and we hop in the car and I had to say-"Where is the toll tag."
Well off we set without it just taking a little longer to get out past Ipswich heading for Goondiwindi for the first night. The Countryside was looking good.

And nearing Aratula-lots of carrots.

A lovely view heading in to Aratula. Can be a nice place to stop for a coffee but we wanted to be in Warwick for lunch.

Through Aratula you are on approach to Cunningham's Gap.Named after Alan Cunningham who in 1827 journeyed north from the Upper hunter to assess the country to the west of the Great Divide.now known as the Darling Downs. In 1828 he came to Brisbane and charted a route through the gap now known after him.

The Gap.
1597054572408.jpeg.

Cunningham charted the route on the right side of the Gap but today's road you can just make out on the left. The original road was built by volunteer labour and opened on the Centenerary of Cunningham's first trip in 1927.however a month after it opened the RACQ declared it too dangerous and it was closed. The road finally opened in November 1949.
Left.

And right.
1597054883712.jpeg.1597054900228.jpeg.

The area was declared a National Park in July 1909.A number of walks in the area.
Then coming down the other side.

And out onto the Darling downs heading to Warwick.

And something large going on alongside the straight into Warwick.

Warwich and we had lunch at KFC-it was next to the BP where we filled up.A lot greasier than we remember so the last until we forget that.Couldn't eat in store so drove to a park. The wind though was ferocious..
Not far out of Warwick and lots of wattles.
