I've been meaning to post this symbolic comparison between our main domestic airlines for some time. I say symbolic because it is a comparison between a small part of each airline but it is similar across both airlines in my experience.

So here is the comparison in pictures. Virgin Australia first:

Yes, the toothbrush pack. In VA's case we get a fairly soft, tapered toothbrush. Those who can remember the late 1980s would recognise this as Reach MK I. The first of the technologically advanced toothbrushes. So VA are giving us a bit of a premium toothbrush. They match that with dodgy brothers toothpaste. (dodgy in terms of packaging, or lack thereof)

Qantas give us this:

Yay, premium Colgate toothpaste! (no doubt sponsored) But a dodgy 1950s hard square headed toothbrush.

So what's my take home message? 6 of one, half dozen the other. They both get premium right, and wrong, in their own different ways.

Are you just filling in time with posts like this? The decay of post quality is as obvious as chipped enamel from grandmas pots - don't just brush this off! I can also see you cut and paste the images like a pro though!

I think medhead knows the drill.

Photos taken with my phone, including from Qantas first lounge on 22 Dec. hopefully, we can notice I've not put this in the playground and put a cap on the puns.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've never seen that Virgin brush or toothpaste. When was this from? I have only had Colgate toothpaste from VA/DJ both To LAX and Domestically.

All this needling seems to be upsetting the OP - I hope he braces himself for more of the same.

We do need to get to the root of the problem though. Polish the answers, and don't spit in the canal!

I think it is a false argument since the wisdom was removed a long time ago.

Lots to pick at. ;)

It's OK Medhead, I'm here to save the day! (or at least try to steer this out of control thread back on topic).

I think MunitalP deserves the crown for the most puns, but I will try to restrain myself, as I Reach for my camera (well, phone actually).

Enough puns, before this thread gets to a pre-carious state!

Now, are these the inflight toothbrushes? Because if they are, what we received on our BKK to SYD last week made your offerings look First Class all the way:

This was a QF, BTW, and the only reason I happened to have it here on my desk was that my daughter thought it would be a useful toy.

Seriously, I was going to start a new thread about this, but had I done so, the mods would have force to amalgamate them.

The SQ offering is quite similar to the ones used to describe QF... although it's found in the Y amenities pack, if that makes a difference.

.

Oh, that's nasty looking. My pictures were Australian lounge offerings. Both of which I've had a number of times at different lounges. I did take a picture of a QF J toothbrush, but it was basically the same as I posted except for being black.

I have been away so haven't been able to get my teeth into this thread.
