As an American who has lived in Australia, I cannot imagine the drama I would have to go through to get a passport replaced in Europe if I lost it.

Where is the poll option for "None of the above"?
The question is really more like "If you had to lose one of these 3 items, which would it be?" rather than "Which one of these 3 items would you prefer to lose on an overseas trip?".

As in, "I'd prefer to lose none, but the one I chose would have the least effect on my if I did lose it".

I have edited the question..

I think certainly from a ease of replacement point of things a phone would be the the easiest to replace, especially when travelling.

The inconvenience of waiting for replacement passports and bank cards etc, missed flights, extra accommodation costs and the likes add up quickly.

Have to say the phone for sure, it has gotten to the point we often don't bother to even take a phone to a lot of destinations now rather we just pick up a cheap prepaid once we arrive if we think we need one and a quick logon to google and bingo all we need is there. Why take my own phone?

However we don't travel for work anymore just leisure so we don't have any of those needs for a phone whilst traveling anymore.

I’m working just out of Wellington on contract for a couple of months and stunned at the number of places that don’t take credit and at least >70% don’t do payWave

The same has been true of Germany for the last few days. I found only one PayWave vendor.

Taken the big chunky belroy wallet overseas with me about 15 times in the last 4 years. It is the best travel wallet ever, holds everything including passport, boarding passes etc, no more padding down multiple pockets to reassure oneself that the wallet and passport are safe. Only one pocket needs padding, it is all there.... but lose that and the lot is gone. Big risk.

Prefer to lose phone as it is all backed up to the icloud each night when charging. Rather cough up the cash for a replacement phone than go through being stuck without cash cards passport etc, dealing with banks, embassy, and all the red tape mess, no thanks.
