Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue before.
So a while ago I booked an Emirates Classic Flight Reward ex-SIN with the associated fees and taxes paid in SGD. I then made a change to the booking which incurred additional fees and taxes, which the phone agent at the time said had to be charged in AUD (she was unable to charge me in SGD, the original currency of the booking). The change was processed and I received a new e-ticket.
Today I wanted to make another change to the booking, however the agent said the system was not letting her as the fare currency was mismatched. She couldn't get around the error (the booking appears to be "locked") and she has put through a request to the support team to see if they can override the error. She said she would call me back when she hears back from the support team.
I don't know what to make of this situation and am hoping they'll be able to resolve it and make the change. @madrooster, might there be some specific setting or process I can mention for the agent to look at in the system when I next call up?
