The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

I can not say whether the issue can be attributed to the IT section or the operations people.
Returning from India I arrived at a time when the most logical flight to PER was QF33, another international flight. This departing from the same international terminal in which I arrived.
Check in at BLR was "interesting". None of the check in staff (including the Qantas supervisor) have any idea about why an orange D sticker was being required nor how one could be arranged.
I figured the simplest way to circumvent the issue would be to short check to SYD and get my BP there. Hand luggage only and a four hour connection (why are there no mid day flights?)
1. There needs to be better instructions during other country checkins for this situation. Even if it is only to say "Customer needs to enter Australia in SYD and obtain a connecting boarding pass there"
2. There needs to be better signage in SYD international for people requiring domestic checkin (ie a real agent needs to do it) . And there needs to be signs to the only area of the immigration desks that can accept domestic boarding passes.

Confusion should not control wandering

If you're not entering Sydney, you can continue to QF33 as an international passenger and clear customs etc in Perth. I used to book QF8 a lot from Brisbane to Sydney to connect to international flights, and you would depart Australia before the Brisbane-Sydney tag as an international passenger, and just go through 'international transit' to your next flight.
