I used Firefox and find the QBR website very temperamental as best.

Yep. It never opens properly for me clicking through from my QFF account. I just see see some summary thing but can’t do anything. I force it to logout and then open the login page to force a fresh login and then it’s fine.

I must book mark that QBR login page and use it directly…

QF (or perhaps QR?) appear to have dropped visibility of QR bookings in the QF app.

You couldn’t do anything with those bookings via the QF app, but always reassuring to see they’re correctly linked to your QFF account and not some random VFF account (which apparently, there’s a bit of scam in play for those not paying attention).

I'm glad I wasn't the only one having trouble.

The work experience kids are at it again. This time for our benefit, though.

But I've taken only two QF flights. 🫢

The third one was QF codeshare on AY metal and seems to have been included. Suits me but given that the tally used to be right on earlier years, someone's flicked a switch into a different position somewhere.

If it had a QF code then it counts as an “Eligible sector”.

That has escaped me. I thought it would require QF / JQ metal (including wet leases, Alliance, etc).

In practice, the current criteria means you could wander around collecting eligible flights without setting your foot on a QF Group aircraft? Rather generous of them.
Yes, especially say EK to Europe or AA and LA to the Americas. A J return with 4 sectors could net SG.

But booking say an QF codeshare on AY, your more likely to be on QF metal to/from Asia.

Except for the fact that one can't usually purchase a QF codeshare without a ticket that touches Oz. Sure, you could get 4 QF ~ doing say EK flights to Europe as codeshares, but one can't just book say LHR-DXB as QF codeshares standalone.

But anyway this one time, NOT an IT issue :) feature

There are a couple of anomalies(?) or opportunities out there.

I’ve personally booked NAN-LAX (return) on QF codes. When nested with SYD-NAN (return) it made for a relatively cheap transpac J fare and obviously better SC/points earn, lounge arrangements than FJ codes.

Probably better SC earn than what you would get on QF in J from SYD-LAX direct too!

Slightly OT, but that one time it was about $4k return (obviously preCovid) but difficult to reproduce. I lucked in with a QF Sale fare to NAN (hasn’t been any post Covid) and FJ sale to LAX that flowed through to the QF codeshare price.

However, the price quoted in FJD didn’t line up with the expected AUD equivalent. There was possibly some sort of DCC or multiple conversion going on but it was still pretty cheap at the time. And yes, scored a shedload of SCs. But did have to argue our way into the LAX F lounge!

And FJ get bonus thumbs up for not having any B787's!

Sorta. Functionally, it's very hard to book a QF codeshare only flight (other than EK) without touching QF Metal

There’s actually a lot eg LA, AA, FJ, SB and I’ve lost track of the various Chinese airlines and where they’re at. Yes, to end up on a QF codeshare on AF, KL, AY, WY you‘re most likely going to be on QF metal ex Oz.

Trying to book Classic awards through the iPad app. Keeps on telling me to login - I am logged in.
Oh, that can be annoying. Maybe try the website via Safari. Possibly better functionality anyway?
