A huge thanks to the forum and helpful members. Thanks to you I'm flying business tomorrow for the first time with the family :)

I think parents are more excited than our 3yo! :)

Final question, is there a point checking in early when flying on an award ticket? I assume it would be safer, but that means getting up at 5am vs 6am hehe

Well done and I hope you and the family enjoy it. Hope you realise now you have had a taste of J class there is no going back, will expect to see you up in F by this time next year.
The earlier you check in means you can saviour the J lounge that little bit earlier

Congrats and I know what you mean, AFF has taught me much and saved me many $!

If you check in sooner, you get more time in the lounge?

And I havent ventured into F yet, J has ruined me enough :)

Check-in on-line (I assume you are referring to the possibility of your seats being changed).

Cathay's on-line check-in opens 48 hours in advance, it's not a bad idea to use it. You should always select seats via the operating carrier's website, they are most likely to stick.

My seats have been changed a couple of times by Cathay. Suggest you check in as soon as you can.
