I could fall in love with an airline that has the chutzpah to name a plane after a competitor

I choose my airlines on slightly different criteria, but chacun à son goût

Hi All

I wanted to share my VAustralia experience SYD - LAX Business. It was excellent from Check in. I am not a fan of Virgin Blue so have been hesitant to consider VA. Also as platinum I always get upgraded on QF flights so like to keep my points up when travelling with them on overseas trips - every 5 weeks.

Im afraid it is time to defect. The service on VA1 was excellent, the plane new and clean, entertainment excellent, food excellent, small touches brilliant - was youthful, energetic and thoughtful in design of the whole experience. Malaysian Airlines lounge is not the QF first class lounge (which is still amazing) but it was very comfortable. Attention to detail was faultless. I would seriously recommend anyone who is a loyal patron of QF to try VA as I would love to hear if my experience is common. Im sure I will miss the lounge at LAX for QF having waited forever for QF's lounge to open and the VA lounge access will be interesting.

I've flown recently both VAaustralia & Qantas. Platinum with both. Agree with you VA have a much better product and service. Last month flown with Qantas to Bangkok. No greeting as Platinum. The Express card only when I asked. The crew team spent most time discussing their "own" business.
Vaustralia flight from Sydney to Abu Dhabi. Was greeted 3 times as "welcome back to us", with glass of Champagne from the business class (I was in PE), then with nice pajamas from business class to make me comfortable as a Platinum. Excellent staff, much friendlier, better entertainment system, better food, more attention, more smiles etc. I would assume better training and bettrer understanding of how to treat the flying elite.
It was my first international with VA but I am very impressed.
