Leaving Bangkok tomorrow earlyish flying Thai business class. I know the QF lounge is closed. I asked the Thai Airlines sales rep, and she said no lounge access. I have tried to find the definitive answer on the Thai website. Anyone know for sure?

If you're in J out of BKK, I'm unsure why you couldn't use any of TG's (?) 3 lounges which appear to be open very extended hours....:o

I've been there at all hours of the day and night and have never found them closed. Given that there are flights departing all night from BKK I would be surprised if they close the main lounge at least. I was there two weeks ago, on one occasion leaving after midnight and no sign of the lounge closing and another occasion departing early and in the lounge at 7am.

Just quoting website "The lounges are open from 1pm until the last flight departure." I figured that at 7 am it would most likely be closed.

My understanding was that if you were flying international business on any Star Alliance carrier, you had access to every carriers J lounge.

Are you referring to the Royal Orchid Lounge, because they are definitely open earlier than 1pm, as I was there 13 days ago, a lot earlier than 1pm.

You can only check in three hours prior to departure, but if you are in transit you can hang out all day.

In the original post, to which you replied I was of course referring to the Qantas lounge

This is correct, though BKK is a consolidated *A hub so only TG lounges.

I checked out a few of them when in a long transit in Dec 2006; 9 hours to be exact. Went lounge hopping as gate info wasn't published till much closer to scheduled departure. I like the one in Pier E most (there was also another one opposite but was still under construction), and the one in pier D least as it's usually warm and overcrowded.

BTW i departed well after midnight and the pier D lounge was still heaving with people and definitely showed no signs of closing anytime soon.

Given it's such a big airport (and maybe because I'm a slowish walker ) I'd simply pick the TG lounge that's closest to the designated gate.
