Hi All,

I'm flying Thai Airways later this week, and I'm hoping to just do carry-on.

I'm currently sitting at around 7.6kgs + ipad/GoPro.
I understand that the official stance is 7kgs for carry-on + 1.5kgs for handbag/computer bag.

My questions are for those that have flown with TG before.
  • How often do they spot check/weigh carry on?
  • Have you been weighed before and just been over? How was the leniency?
I appreciate it will change from staff to staff...

Worst case, I check it in...
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

0.6 of a kg no one will bat an eye lid. Worst case you would just take your ipad out and hold it in your hand, bringing you under the limit.

I occasionally fly TG between SIN & BKK and vice versa (once every four months or so). I always have a wheelaboard (weighing between 6-10kg) + backpack for my laptop etc (weighing 3-5kg). Never been questioned, at either SIN or BKK. With the small amount you will be over, will not be a problem.
