It seems like you can now select your seats online.

I have just changed my seats on my upcoming flight dept 31.12 after checking my booking on the TG website - a lot easier than ringing them up.

Online seat assignment now up on Thaiairways.com

Hi, noticed yesterday that when using the check booking option on Thai Airways website, a modify button is available for confirmed flights. Using this allows you to select seats for upcoming flights! No more calls to Thai Airways offices to request seat assignment.
