Yeap, I can get the CX flight - it will save ~$500, but that Sunday morning flight departs at 7:35am, as opposed to QF leaving at a far more civilised 10:45am...I can't see why you wouldn't be able to get a CX Business fare ex-SYD, with a stopover on the return to SYD that would be right for this trip. But haven't looked into fares. Also, the plane type HKG-Mumbai might be nothing special on CX - regional config. IIRC, it's a pretty long flight. But again, best you check.
Likewise, on the return, CX leaves HK at 7pm, whereas QF leaves at 9pm.
Thats what I wanted to hear! The APEC card costs money (Company wont pay), but FVC is free, and free is goodAnd yes, a 2 hour entry will count towards getting to FVC again.

Do you need to do anything special? Tell the checkin chick at Sydney that I want to get out in HK? Or do they let you go out and back in as you please provided you fill out the paperwork?
