Planning to fly SYD-SIN-SYD in economy in April 05, when should I expect to start seeing the $800-1000 return airfares? I was hoping to book in advance, but short of $1050 with Gulf Air, all the prices are $5000+.

Not keen on waiting until 4-6weeks before, should I just go with the Gulf Air one now? (departing first day of school holidays and returning last)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Expect the specials to come in around Xmas/new Year and then again after chinese new year. I would not rush into the Gulf Air Option (flights arriving at 4AM into SiN are not my preferred option), it is probably worth a trip to a freindly agent to let them know what you need, they can look out for the specials and get the bookings in early when they are released.

All discount fares SYD-SIN seem only to be loaded until 31st March. I woould expect these to be loaded within the next six weeks.

(I did a trial QF booking with variable dates and up to 31st March the fares are just shy of $1100.)

FWIW, you can do a LONE4 in April for approx. $4500!

Thanks. I noticed the QF Specials only run until 31st March, so I was thinking the April sales won't be too far away. I'd be happy to pay $1100 on QF/BA because the schedules are good (would save me having to spend an extra night in SIN after coming in from HKT in the morning).

I noticed at the moment Royal Brunei have a $765 return fare, so it'd be nice for that to pop up at the time I need. I guess I'll just have to wait.

The only reason the Gulf appealed was because I managed to get the cheaper fares on the first and last day of the school holidays, which I've never managed to find before!
