So I was travelling on QF last Monday and the Business Class lounge was full and overflowing into the area below the F lounge escalator. The access to the F lounge was roped off by two barricade but you can just walk between them.

I simply walked between the barricade and took the escalator up into the F lounge.

Hopefully Qantas read this and fix what is a stupidly simple way to access F lounge flying business or OWS.

PS: I am WP and was meeting people in the Business Class lounge so I felt morally okay to take the back door to F lounge.

Usually you still need to show your BP at the desk up the escalator, so not really a loophole. During quiet time there is no doorman at the lower entrance of the F lounge pre-screening PAX anyway.

And you didn't get screened out at the top of the escalator?

The "morally okay" bit is just bizarre.

This overflow area has existed for months. You still have to show credentials to get into the F lounge proper unless you're very lucky and there's nobody on the desk. I wouldn't say it's stupid; what would be stupid is NOT having the overflow and making an already average, busy lounge worse.

I've seen the roped off area with chairs / tables a few times now and known that it is J overflow, but I've never seen anyone using it - or at least the part you can see when entering the F lounge normally.

As I was leaving last week I saw a guy there all on his own doing pushups with gym clothes on.
