Sydney Domestic J Lounge Showers

.I appreciated the shower after a long day out including Coogee Beach

I recently appreciated one after a long workday before the long flight home to Perth.

But they are clearly in need of a renovation, the mould in the tile grout is beyond the reach of bleach. It makes me worried about the dirt I can't see.

What I detest though is the air freshener they use. It is way overpowered for a tiny shower room with limited ventilation, it feels like I was inhaling that spray directly.

The shower head also squealed extremely unpleasantly on and off while the shower was operating.

How long till the knock down rebuild?

FWIW I’ve noted a couple of times that while the SYD Dom J showers are busy and messy during the morning peak of int’l connections, the QP ones next door can have better availability and are potentially in a better state too.

Yes, the J lounge showers were installed well before the current Qantas Club showers.

They were the original Qantas Club showers built in the latter 90's when the Qantas Club moved from an area near gate 16 to upstairs over gate 4. (Back when there were no domestic Business lounges. )

Before the 2000 Olympics the Qantas Club was extended to the West and then occupied the combined footprints of the current Business Lounge and Qantas Club. I am not certain but the current Qantas Club showers were built eIther then or when the lounge area was divided to make a J lounge.

And the exact same sign spotted on Monday in the Qantas club showers at sydney domestic. All the J lounge showers were occupied. I am going to say it is almost certain this sign is also located in the business lounge showers. Granted some people are illiterate and get on well in life. I'm going to also say those people who can't read are fairly rare in the qantas business lounge.

At the end of year AFF awards ceremony I’m nominating this thread for services to porcine confusion! Apparently many pigs are found in the Dom J lounge shower stalls but less so outside that part of the lounge. Yet weirdly they are apparently highly localised around the QP ‘troughs’, both food and drinking, but not the QP showers.

Alternatively, maybe just be less precious and pick up someone else’s towel: you know, that whole idea to ‘leave the world better than you found it’. Have I been infected by the @Quickstatus zen travel bug?

While I’m at it, I’m also nominating the OPs post number 26 for not just ignoring, but completely obliterating any stigmeological principles in its second sentence! I mean, I was already hyperventilating after the first 83-word sentence, but that second one caused such a migraine I had to take two panadol and lie down for a week!
I can share with you all that I have nominated it to the La Writ Littéraire for consideration toward the Prix Goncourt and the €10 grand prize.
