Thank you for a great TR.
Thank you for a great TR.
Really enjoyed reading your TR, & contained useful information. Planning to go to Europe next year, & would like to cover a lot of the same ground. Thanks for putting the effort into the TR.
Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?
Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.
Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
I've just been rereading your trip report on Neuschwanstein, as I'm about to reserve my "Swan" ticket. I'll be arriving at Füssen station at the same time as you did (~ 10am), since I'll be changing trains at München Hbf onto the same RE 57504 service that you took. Based on your comment of allowing 45 minutes from train arrival to ticket collection, and the note on the booking form, "pick up time at least 60 min earlier!", would you say that requesting a preferred entrance time to Hohenschwangau Castle of 12pm is the way to go?You seem like you are good for trains. In that case go that route. And go early. It is a big day

Other thoughts:
We were unsure of the timings from train hitting Fussen station to collecting the tickets.
For us, it was 25 mins as we timed it. And we had allowed 30 mins so we were right on the window. If I were doing it again, I would allow 45 mins to be safe from train landing to ticket collection provided you have pre-reserved.
