SYD to USA on QF

I'm planning to travel to Europe, (for 3 months) via USA end of June 2011 on QF and OW partners, (from USA to Europe.) At least on the first leg, (SYD - USA) I would like to upgrade to business.

Out of the 3 QF USA destinations,(LAX, JFK and DFW,) which one gives me the best chances to upgrade to business? I'm thinking of choosing DFW, as I've never been to this part of US before, but I would really like to choose the one that gives me the best chances for an upgrade. Thanks for any good advise. As a PS/SG never had a issue upgrading SYD-LAX or VV on QF 11/12.
Keep in mind you are coming up to NSW school holidays, and also so the peak travel season for the US for these reasons I would be more inclined to look at upgrading SYD/DFW which would be the least booked IMHO.
As a WP can't imagine to many upgrade issues which ever way you go.

With DFW they are using 4 class 747s, but only selling 3 classes. They are going to move WP/CL flyers up a class, subject to availability. I can't remember where I read this, but it was in some sort of QF press release or something like that. Might have been a thread on here about it as well.

Eg. If you pay for J, you'll get moved to F seating, if you pay for Y+, you'll get moved to J (last two rows), or if you pay for Y, you'll get moved to Y+.

Obviously this depends on how many WPs/CLs there are on the flight, but if you book early there is probably a good chance (not sure if you can select the auto-upgrade seats in advance or not, also not sure if you receive the "lower" cabin service/meals - I'm guessing you do in F, seeing there is no actual F seating, but not sure about other classes).

It looks like you can - even as a lowly SG I've been able to select row 4 (F seating) for a J award flight. Of course, I might always get moved, but you can at least select and hope!

Maybe they've extended it to SG too - fingers crossed for you they have!
