From the QF website:

When flying on eligible Air Pacific fares and flights with a FJ flight number, you can:

• earn points,
• earn Status credits,
• earn a Cabin bonus.

Surprised to hear from you complaining about flying in circles this is AFF after all!!!

Not complaining. The OP said they wanted to get to HKG and gave a budget and I cannot see how going to TPE and then trying to get to HKG is going to stay within budget.

Anyway I love flying around in circles. Will be doing so again in ~4 weeks. But as I love flying around in circles I do not get dizzy!

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions everyone! Ended up grabbing the QF Y+ special before it ended and may look at doing a status run out of TPE if time permits.
