I'm looking at travelling with my wife and 1yr old to Bali and I'm struggling to work out the best use of my points/ travel time.

Leaving Mid Sept there are no JQ Business seats available - direct to and from SYD - DPS .

I can get J seats to and from Jakarta but would have the hassle of changing and rechecking etc. to get to DPS.

Other option is the getting to Perth or Darwin and jumping on JQ from there.

Has anyone tried this trip before and can recommend the best solution?

Your guidance is welcomed.

Hi, have you looked at any seat awards, then reducing the cost down by paying cash ? Plenty of seats:

Thanks for that Markis 10. Do you know what the size of the point reduction can be? I've got 200k to use. I'm close to the 2400 status bonus but I wont get it on time to make the booking.

It reduces down to 50K in the case of J for SYD-DPS, for my money I would grab a REAL J seat on QF to DRW using points then just grab a cheapie ex DRW!

Hi Markis10

Dont want to hijack this thread but how the heck are you booking flights on Jetstar.com using points? What am I missing - never seen this ability and have never been able to book JASA on Jet*

Im wondering what I've always missed now.
Cheers

Use the Qantas anyseat engine and select any JQ flight on the day and route you need, the system will move you across to JQ and the above options will show, including starclass/j options if they exist.

Wow - never seen that before - thanks for sharing. I've always wondered why I couldn't see a lot of the JASA on J*

Hi, first post - I am trying to see if its cheaper on points to redeem via JQ business class but..am unable to get myself 'moved' over to Jetstar web site. Do you have any more pointers markis10?

Markis10- have found a previous post where you addressed this and am going to give this a go. If you do read this - not sure how this web site works- thanks for your tips to FF website novices like me.
