Silver Kris Lounges, Sydney -- Singapore Airlines

Sydney (SYD) Silver Kris Lounge will be temporarily closed for renovation works. The Business Class section will be closed from 14 May to 25 May 2007. The First Class section will close from 26 May to 08 June 2007. During this period of closure, eligible passengers to the lounge will be directed to Air New Zealand Lounge located on the same level.

Where they will find a much nicer lounge and never go back to the Silver Kris Lounge...

If the NZ SYD lounge is anything like the MEL one - the lounge bouncers will vigorously fend off anyone not flying NZ and airlines that have a special arrangement to use the NZ lounge (such as TG at MEL). It is a *A lounge but 'capacity control' is a valid reason under *A rules. A few times when flying SQ I'd managed to 'fight' my way into the NZ lounge after noticing that it's empty as despite the dragon citing 'capacity control' like a broken record. :D

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Wouldnt the expectation be that after the renovations the new SKL would be nice - perhaps nicer than the NZ lounge?

Maybe. But just how much can they do in 12 days? (Compare this with how long QF is taking.)

I have to believe that the F rennovations at QF are being done by two guys with 3 arms and two legs between them - I think Wembley Stadium was built faster...

one of the guys is in Sydney and the other is in Melbourne, right? :D

Methinks that MEL could have been ready to go at leat by November.!

Remember, the Adjacent EK lounge using 1/3 of the same new structure was in operation for the Melbourne Cup Horse Racing carnival back then.

The SYD lounge is an angular/sloping design and when Builders have to deal with angles other than 90°, 180° or 270° estimates are rarely accurate.

Of course, SYDcentric Qantas Management could not have the new 'generation' F Lounge in MEL open before their SYD Flagship.
