LATAM has some excellent business class sale fares to South America for travel later in the year. E.g. SYD-SCL in July/August is available from ~USD2,088 return which works out to be AUD2,911.

I have no idea whether these flights will actually run. Currently, LATAM is scheduling the resumption of 3x weekly SYD-AKL-SCL flights from April, but who really knows.

A good price if the flights go ahead. But does anyone know if LATAM would refund in full if they cancel the flight?

The same flights are available as QF codeshares but Qantas is charging over $4,000 return.

I would think LATAM would have to. If one was to book through an Australian agent, surely Australian rules about cancellations would apply.

$4258 on QF codeshare is actually pretty good also (if they actually fly).

Assuming QF J lounge reopens soon, you get QF lounge (inc 1st lounge for QF WP), points and SCs (at QF rates).

Post LAN leaving Oneworld, booking with a LA code - different lounge and not sure where you’d credit points? etc

The LAN long haul J product is 'only just" OK IMnsHO, but the likelihood of achieving a refund is , in my experience, zilch.
We finally did an Amex chargeback which got their attention..otherwise we would have been cactus..caveat emptor.

Just saw this article and I was a little surprised that LA codes still earn points and reduced SCs. Is it correct?

The QF points calculator does show SCs earn on LA code but the earn table says just earn points from 01 Oct 2020.

Likely they haven't updated the calculator.

No SC's due to LAN exiting oneworld.
That’s what I thought. So the article is also incorrect (and probably going off the calculator!).

Ditto - two chargebacks with Amex needed for LATAM, they just point blank refused to refund cancelled flight… they never responded after that. very reluctant to flying them again.

Anyone knows anything concrete about Latam flying to South America? I've been monitoring their flights and they appear and disappear randomly from their website, i.e. one day they have lots of options going Bne - Eze and today there's practically nothing, only in June or July, e.g. a very expensive (US2500) ONE way only option, and it's also a 35+hours flight. Other days I found pretty good options, and then nothing or very little again. Is it to do with their scheduling changes? I am owed money by Qantas already and I've heard horrible things about Latam so I am trying to get as much info as possible. Preferably, that the planes are flying for me to get a ticket.
Also, around refunds and chargebacks with credit cards, when can you request this? I've been told 6 to 7 weeks to receive my refund from Qantas, but I find this unacceptable and want my money sooner than that (I heard it'll take longer than 7 weeks anyway).
