SYD-JNB First Class?

T-72 and managed to bump up to 3A... really looking forward to this seat as it seems the farthest away from any other.. hopefully some privacy.

SA is very good value for money for us Aussie's, especially the price of beer lol!

Will have to check out Durban.... the coastline looks spectacular around that region.
If you go to Durban there is a B&B we stay in called Essenwood House in the Berea - you would need a car to get around but it is a lovely place to stay and quite inexpensive (but then so is everything with the current exchange rates!). I find Durban quite boring but maybe that is a hang over from my opinion of it when I lived there many years ago....Lovely curries due to the large Indian population.

Mrs B and I appear to be in an old config for our flight back from JNB. Would those who've sat in the old first seats suggest grabbing 2 aisle seast eg. 2A and 3A or the middle seats eg 2E and 2F.
Thanks

I would take 2E and 2F - a little less private than 3E and F but still fine and you are together for chatting. It is different to the A380 config where 2A and 3A are my favoured seats. :)

Thanks for reply. 3E & F are also available. Would that be better?

Yes I think so - just feels a touch more private. Probably because you have the seat in front providing more of a cocoon feeling, whereas 2 E and F are more open at the front. Also because of the shape of the cabin, you are slightly closer to to 2A and K than 3A and K. All tiny points though, although I suppose that is what we are about on AFF. :)

Yes it is. Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. I'll grab them now :)

Sat in 3E and SWMBO in 3F. I think these are better than the same in row 2. I noticed the cabin crew doing loops around the front of row 2 as well us using the little bench area to place items during service. In fact, I think I'd select row 4 over row 2.

great info there Daver6... Row 2 was also available on my seat finder, but i chose 3A because a) I am alone!! and b) the issues with Row 2!
